The Old Bridge
🌉 The Old Bridge – The Symbol of Mostar and UNESCO Heritage
The Old Bridge in Mostar, built in 1566, is one of the most famous examples of Ottoman architecture. With its elegant stone arch, nearly 29 meters long, the bridge rises 21 meters above the Neretva River, offering a spectacular view of the old town.
The bridge also became world-famous for the traditional diving competitions held since 1968, and in 2005 it was included on the UNESCO World Heritage List along with the old town.
Beyond the bridge, Mostar offers a rich cultural and gastronomic experience, with landmarks such as the Karađozbeg Mosque, the Franciscan Church, the Turkish House, the Tekija in Blagaj, the Aleksa Šantić House, as well as natural attractions like Diva Grabovica and the Mostar Marshes.
